Abstract

This study aims to determine the structure and value of children contained in folklore Slate Inscription Munjul and its application as learning materials Appreciation of Literature. The method used is the method of qualitative descriptive. Analysis of the story using the techniques of content analysis (content analysis) and the work step analysis using the theory of Philip Mayaring. The research data was collected through documents and validation techniques used is triangulation of data and sources, methods and theories. While the analytical techniques used are the structural analysis. The themes contained in folklore Munjul Slate Inscription This is about the struggle of a king in the fight against pirates Purnawarman Sea. The main character is depicted in this story is king Purnawarman, then the type of groove used, using advanced flow. Background contained in this story is in the waters of Java and Ciliman River, Outskirts Kampung Sungai Lebak Munjul Cidanghiyang precisely, and the mandate contained in this story about a trait that vanity is defeated by good. In addition, based on the analysis of educational value shows that in the story there is some educational value of them, moral values, such as tolerance, manners, merciful and gracious, traditional values ??reflected in the customs of the people around one berhuma, religious values ??that attitude obedient and mutual respect among others, the historical value of the events of war in the waters of the Java Sea and the value of heroism that is the attitude of courage to sacrifice for the sake of defending the homeland, and based on research results, the story can be used as a learning material appreciation of literature.
